Arf. It must mean that word is spreading though, and it is a bloody funny book. Buy it, laugh a lot, tell your friends, they buy it laugh a lot, they tell their friends and so on! Like the Arctic Monkeys, only funnier. And older, balder and fatter. Hell they're authors not pop stars!

UK Printed Test Book is here & is fine!

So, the printing operation we use has a global option, whereby our originals are farmed out to other presses for local manufacture and distribution, and this is where play.com gets their copies from.

And a copy we bought to make sure it's OK has arrived. the sleeve is a little brighter and a little thinner, but is still paperback standard, and it's still gloss finished. The ISBN number has been replaced too with same number different design, for some reason - probably to do with fonts. It usually is with ISBNs apparently.

The paper is of comparable quality and ultimately it's still a good looking bit of kit. More pertinently, play.com are offering it for £5.99 including P&P, so go bag a bargain today!!

Amazon still carry it too, and of course you get free P&P from them if your order's over fifteen quid. They charge £6.06 for it, a moderately random price if ever there was.

Launch done!

So, the 12" launch party was held at the Hatchet, and it was...well, mixed. People were few (Thursday night, raining!), but those that were there were ace. Posters were lovely at A3 size, but the bar management were w*nkers of the first order when they decided to close at 1am...telling us at quarter past midnight. This meant that Soundhog, having travelled all the way from North Wales, played maybe 40 minutes tops. No-one took a proper camera that we know of, so the best (and only) photos were taken on a phone! Ah well.

So halfwit bar management (not the bar staff, they're good types) and gorilla bouncers (known stupid & neanderthal) aside, a good time was had, and everyone danced a bit and so on. The 12" is available through HOIZ (just send us an email and we can work out payment to suit you) or occasionally through eBay.

Good this isn't it?!

Play.com are offering the book for £5.99 inc P&P, and it's the UK produced version which we've not seen yet. Suffice to say we've ordered one to check quality is up to spec. You'll have to search for it by title though, as for some reason they've only included Rich as author, not Steve. We have mailed them about that, and hope for a correction in due course.

A Little Book Of Lies has popped up on amazon.co.uk for £6.06, but that has a proviso of taking 4-6 weeks to arrive. You *could* always ask us instead....;) easiest way to find it on Amazon is search for Potz-Rayner, since there's only one Steve and he's only got one book out there. Lockwood returns about 2800 items!!
